Auto repair shops in Council Bluffs: Prices, Policies and What Isn't Disclosed

Section 1Start with these three

Three full sheet excerpts to read first. Everyone else in this report follows in the table and the list below.

Section 2What to compare before you call

Ratings tell you whether past customers were happy. These six details tell you what you're agreeing to. Under each one is how many of the 24 auto repair shops in this report told us.

Section 3Comparison table

All 24 auto repair shops, listed alphabetically; the order is not a ranking. A dashed Not provided cell means the business hasn't told us and we couldn't confirm it from a public record. Not offered means the business told us it doesn't offer it.

Scroll the table sideways to see every column. The business name stays in view.

Section 4More auto repair shops in Council Bluffs

The other 21, A to Z. The squares show all 22 fields we track; dashed ones are not provided. Each name opens the full sheet. How we collect and check this

Section 5Pricing and local facts

Local facts: Pottawattamie costs, fees and rules

What public records add to the prices on each sheet: local costs, figures and the rules every quote has to meet.

Figures from public sources. Sample figures show what our live public-data feed will fill in; they are not real counts.

Section 6Questions to ask before you sign

Each question matches a field on our sheets. If a sheet says Not provided, this is where to ask.

1. What exactly is in the price?Get a line-by-line list: permits, materials, equipment, disposal and cleanup.
2. How much is the deposit, and what are the payment stages? Each payment should be tied to finished work you can see.
3. How do you price changes after I sign?Fixed written price per change, or cost plus a markup? What is the markup?
4. Which warranty covers what, and for how long?Ask for the warranty document itself, and whether it transfers if you sell the house.
5. Who does the work?Which parts are done by your own crew and which by subcontractors, and are the subcontractors licensed?
6. Can I see your license and a current insurance certificate?Check the license yourself on the state's license lookup, and ask the insurer to send the certificate.
7. What happens if I cancel? Before permits, after permits and after work starts: what do you keep, and what do you refund?
8. When could you start, and what delays the finish?Get the start date in writing, and ask how weather and inspections are handled.
